Embark on a journey through Los Haitises National Park in the Dominican Republic, where you will see rivers, mangroves, and local wildlife.

Tour Options

Upon booking, you can select from two options, both starting at the Altos de Caño Hondo hotel at your chosen time:

2.5-hour Tour

Meet at the Altos de Caño Hondo hotel and depart for the marina to board a boat heading to Los Haitises National Park.

Sail along the Caño Hondo River through the red mangroves toward San Lorenzo Bay, observing rocky mogotes and wildlife such as pelicans and kingbirds. Note the 700 different species of plants in the islets.

Explore Arena and Linea Cave with petroglyphs and paintings from indigenous populations dating back 750 years, depicting animals, deities, and humans.

After the caves, continue searching for manatees, dolphins, and other marine mammals. Conclude the trip returning to the starting point after 2.5 hours.

3.5-hour Tour

This option follows the same itinerary as the 2.5-hour tour, exploring mangroves, San Lorenzo Bay, and the Arena and La Linea caves.

After these visits, venture into the Owl Cave, known for its owl nests, while observing local flora and fauna, including various bird species.

Return to the meeting point and conclude the tour after 3.5 hours of activities.
