Tour Options
At the time of booking, choose from two options, both starting at the Altos de Caño Hondo hotel.
2.5-hour Tour
Meet at the Altos de Caño Hondo hotel at your chosen time. After boarding a boat, we will depart from Sabana de la Mar towards Los Haitises National Park.
Sail along the Caño Hondo River through red mangroves to San Lorenzo Bay, where you can spot pelicans and kingbirds. Observe the 700 species of plants on the islets.
We will enter the Arena and Linea Cave, where you can see petroglyphs and paintings by indigenous populations from 750 years ago. These artworks depict animals, deities, and humans.
After the caving experience, continue to explore the park and look for manatees and dolphins. Return to the starting point after 2.5 hours.
3 to 3.5-hour Tour
This option follows the same itinerary, including the mangroves, San Lorenzo Bay, and the Arena and La Linea caves.
After these sites, we will visit the Owl Cave, which is known for its owl nests and local flora and fauna, including various bird species. Return to the meeting point after 3 to 3.5 hours.
