Feel like an explorer for a day on our Los Haitises National Park hike. You'll trek through the wilderness in the Dominican Republic and go on a boat trip.
Hike Details
At your chosen time, we'll meet at Puerto Caño Hondo in Los Haitises National Park for a hiking trip.
We'll walk for around 2.5 miles (3.8 kilometres) to Caño Salado while observing coconut, coffee and cocoa trees. In the rainforest, look out for the small solenodon, an endangered mammal. Parrots, pelicans, and kingbirds may accompany us during the hike. We'll also learn facts about the Taino people, whose name means 'mountainous land.'
Upon reaching the end of the trail, we'll take a small boat back to the starting point, noting the red and white mangroves.
After four hours of adventure, we'll conclude the activity back at the starting point.
