Lamego Trip

Do you know about the historical region of Terras de Trás-os-Montes? On this trip to Lamego, we'll visit one of the most significant cities in this northern Portuguese region.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and head towards Lamego, one of northern Portugal's historic cities. Upon arrival, we'll embark on a walking tour of Lamego's historic centre to explore its notable monuments. We will start by admiring the façade of Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral, a gothic temple in the town centre.

Next, we'll walk through the narrow medieval streets to the Igreja de Santa Maria de Almacave, the historical meeting place for the Cortes of Lamego. Afterward, we'll proceed to the Castle of Lamego, where we will learn about the history of this medieval structure, strategically located.

Following the castle, we'll visit the Santuário de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, known for its 18th-century rococo architecture. This location is also popular for wedding photos.

Finally, we'll visit a wine bar for a glass of sparkling wine from Lamego (juice for those under age). We will return to your hotel approximately 4 hours after pickup.
