Lamego Trip

Do you know about the historical region of Terras de Trás-os-Montes? On this trip to Lamego, we'll visit one of the cities in this northern Portuguese region.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and head towards Lamego, known for its historic significance. Upon arrival, we'll embark on a walking tour of Lamego's historic centre to explore its monuments. We will first admire the façade of Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral, a gothic temple located in the town centre.

Next, we'll walk through the narrow medieval streets to the Igreja de Santa Maria de Almacave, where the Cortes of Lamego used to meet. Following that, we'll visit the Castle of Lamego, learning about its history as we walk around the site.

Continuing the tour, we'll stop in front of the Santuário de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios to appreciate its 18th-century rococo architecture. Finally, we'll visit a wine bar for a glass of sparkling wine from Lamego (juice for those under age). We will return to your hotel approximately 4 hours after pickup.
