Why Visit the Basilica of Saint-Denis?
This Medieval abbey church was the first building constructed in the Gothic style, featuring pointed arches, rib-vaulted ceilings, and stained glass windows. The basilica is the final resting place of many French monarchs, including Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, whose extravagant tombs are notable sites. Visitors can explore the interior at their own pace.
In addition to the tombs, guests will appreciate the spectacular stained glass windows, particularly the rose window, which illuminates the cathedral with color.
