Discover the first example of Gothic architecture in the world: explore the magnificent Medieval Basilica of Saint-Denis located just outside of Paris.

Why Visit the Basilica of Saint-Denis?

Pointed arches, rib-vaulted ceilings, and stunning stained glass windows characterize this Medieval abbey church, which was the first building to be constructed in the Gothic style that would spread across Western Europe between the 12th and 15th centuries.

This ticket grants you access to the Basilica of Saint-Denis, allowing you to explore its awe-inspiring interior at your own pace. The cathedral houses the royal necropolis, serving as the final resting place for many of France's historic monarchs, with their extravagant tombs being particularly noteworthy. Don't overlook the funerary monuments of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, pivotal figures in the French Revolution.

Beyond the sculptural masterpieces, you'll be captivated by the spectacular stained glass windows, especially the rose window, which illuminates the interior with a colorful glow.

Other highlights include the organ, choir, and the adjoining chapels. To complete your visit, we recommend checking out the Fabrique de la flèche, located at the foot of the monument, where you can learn about its construction secrets.
