The ferry to the islands of Gozo and Comino departs from the ports of Sliema and Bugibba, both located on the island of Malta.

The crossing takes approximately one hour on a modern ferry with cafeteria service, providing panoramic views of the Maltese archipelago. You can explore Gozo and Comino at your leisure once you disembark, with multiple return ferries to Malta available in the afternoon.

What To Do on Gozo & Comino

The ferry will take you to the port of Mgarr on Gozo Island, where extensive archaeological remains and beaches await. Comino, the smallest island, is known for its beautiful landscapes, particularly the Blue Lagoon, a popular spot for swimming and hiking.

How it Works

You can get on and off the ferry multiple times during the day. Departure times affect the amount of free time on each island, with options of 2 hours on each island, or 5 hours on either Gozo or Comino.

The ferry schedule is as follows:

Port of Sliema: 2 departures at 10 am. Return at 5:05 pm or 6:10 pm (10 May to 1 October); 5:40 pm (2 October to 9 May).Port of Bugibba: departure at 10:40 am (1 October to 18 April) or at 11:30 am (19 April to 1 October). Return at 7:30 pm (10 May to 1 October) or at 5 pm (2 October to 9 May).

Important Info

Starting May 1, 2025, a free entrance ticket to the Blue Lagoon of Comino must be booked via the Government's website for afternoon hours. Without this reservation, access to the lagoon is prohibited. No ticket is needed for swimming or staying on board.
