For the Bridgetown Military Garrison Tour, you can choose between:
Military Garrison + Museum (2.5 hours)
Meet in front of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society. We will discuss life for soldiers during the colonial period and share a detailed story about a historical event involving George Washington that occurred here in 1751. The tour includes viewing the Military Garrison's cannon collection.
A snack break will be included before we visit the Barbados Museum and Historical Society to view typical plantations, old maps, and over 500,000 military artifacts.
Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 am
Military Garrison + George Washington's House (3.5 hours)
This option includes a tour of the Military Garrison and George Washington's house. We will also visit the Garrison Savannah Racetrack, used for horseracing in the 19th century, where military personnel competed.
In George Washington's house, we will explore barracks, hospitals, forts, and other significant sites, gaining insights into the life of the United States' first president in Barbados.
