Description

At the time indicated, we'll start our guided tour of Speightstown at 1B Highway Street. From here, we'll begin our route around the city's streets located on the northwest coast of Barbados.

During this walking tour, we'll learn about its link with England, including remnants from British colonial times and the 17th-century architecture that characterizes this town.

We'll explore Queen Street, where we’ll see old buildings, shops, restaurants, and art galleries, and admire traditional Barbados constructions, with wooden and coral stone houses and forged iron balconies. We'll also pass by Arlington House Museum, featuring interactive exhibitions on Speightstown's history.

Another area will be Church Street, home to St. Peter's Church, built in 1837 in Gothic style. The cemetery contains tombs of important figures such as Admiral Lord Nelson.

Additionally, we'll visit Orange Street for views of the Caribbean Sea and Speightstown Pier, famous for its palm trees and a mural depicting daily life.

This option includes the guided tour of Speightstown and access to the first floor of Arlington House Museum, showcasing changes from the 17th to 20th centuries. We'll conclude with a meal at Rum Shack, featuring a buffet of traditional dishes and a non-alcoholic drink.
