Join us on a tour of Barbados' second largest city, known as Little Bristol, on this guided tour of Speightstown.

Description

At the time indicated, we'll start our guided tour of Speightstown at 1B Highway Street. We'll navigate the city's streets on the northwest coast of Barbados.

This walking tour highlights connections to England, showcasing 17th-century architecture and remnants from British colonial times. We'll visit Queen Street, the main thoroughfare featuring old buildings, shops, restaurants, and art galleries, with traditional wooden and coral stone houses, forged iron balconies, and red-tiled roofs. We will also pass by Arlington House Museum, which presents interactive exhibits on Speightstown's history and culture.

Next, we'll explore Church Street, home to St. Peter's Church, built in 1837, which features an octagonal tower and organ. The cemetery contains notable tombs, including those of Admiral Lord Nelson and writer George Lamming.

We'll walk down Orange Street, which offers views of the Caribbean Sea and Speightstown Pier, known for its palm trees and a prominent mural depicting daily life.

We'll conclude the 2-hour walking tour at this location.
