Sal Island Lemon Sharks Sighting

In this activity, you'll observe the lemon sharks of Sal Island from close distance. These sharks are harmless to humans.

Description

Pickup at your hotel in Santa Maria will be between 2:10 pm and 2:40 pm for transportation to Shark Bay, known for its lemon sharks.

Lemon sharks are named for the light effect that can give them a yellowish appearance. They typically measure between 8 feet and 9 feet (2.5 to 3 meters) long. During this activity, you will dip your feet in shallow waters where baby lemon sharks are found, while larger ones will be observed from a distance. You'll also learn about this species of shark.

If preferred, you can watch the sharks from the shoreline while relaxing and sunbathing on the sands of Shark Bay.

Following the experience with the lemon sharks, you will return to Santa Maria, with an expected arrival at your hotel at 4:30 pm.
