Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet beneath the clock in Plaza Mayor. Once we're together, we'll embark on a journey through the city of Salamanca.

We'll begin in Plaza Mayor, where we will learn about Salamanca's rise during the Spanish Empire and some hidden tales about the square. From here, we will head to the nearby Plaza del Corrillo, rich in medieval heritage.

Our next stop is the Casa de las Conchas, a Gothic-style building adorned with carved shells. Nearby, we will view the impressive façade of La Clerecía, which houses the Pontifical University of Salamanca.

Continuing, we will arrive at the historic Patio de Escuelas Mayores, home to one of the oldest universities in Europe. Here, we’ll discover stories from its past and spot the famous Frog of Salamanca in the Plateresque façade.

We will also explore the Patio de Escuelas Menores, where we'll admire the Sky of Salamanca, a mural depicting a Renaissance-era celestial map.

Next, we'll head to Plaza de Juan XXIII to learn about the Old Cathedral, a Romanesque masterpiece. A short walk away, in Plaza de Anaya, we will see the towering New Cathedral, a blend of Gothic and Baroque architecture.

The tour lasts between 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours, concluding at Plaza de Anaya. Before leaving, our guide will share recommendations for dining and drinking in Salamanca.
