Salamanca Private Tour
At the scheduled time, we will meet at the Plaza Mayor to begin our private tour of Salamanca, known for its historic center declared a World Heritage Site. The city features impressive Picaresque style architecture and fascinating facts.
During the visit, we will see the famous shells of St. James on the Casa de las Conchas, located in front of the La Clerecía temple, previously a Jesuit College, now home to the Pontifical University.
The tour will proceed down Libreros Street to the University of Salamanca, the oldest in Spain, where notable figures like Fray Luis de León and Unamuno taught. We will explore its façade and admire the Sky of Salamanca, a 15th-century fresco in the historic Escuelas Menores.
Next, we will visit the two cathedrals, starting with the New Cathedral, constructed from 1513 to 1733, followed by the Old Cathedral, showcasing medieval architecture and significant sculptures. We will pay special attention to the Chapel of Santa Barbara, linked to many illustrious authors.
Finally, after two hours, the tour will conclude at the Casa Lis Museum, a notable attraction in Castilla and León.
