Salamanca Private Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Plaza Mayor to kick off our private tour of Salamanca, a city recognized for its historic center, declared a World Heritage Site. This city features majestic architectural masterpieces in Picaresque style and is rich in interesting facts.
During the visit, we will see the famous shells of St. James on the Casa de las Conchas, located in front of the temple of La Clerecía, which was once a Jesuit College and now houses the Pontifical University.
The tour continues down Libreros Street to the University of Salamanca, the oldest in Spain, where notable professors have lectured. After admiring the Picaresque details of its façade, we'll venture inside to view the famous Sky of Salamanca, a 15th-century fresco in the historic buildings of the Escuelas Menores.
Next, we will visit the two cathedrals, starting with the New Cathedral, built from 1513 to 1733. Entering the Old Cathedral is like traveling back in time, featuring remarkable architecture and sculptures. Attention will be given to the Chapel of Santa Barbara, significant for Spanish literature graduates.
Our tour concludes after two hours at the Casa Lis Museum, a popular site in Castilla and León.
