Birdwatching in Santa Rita Natural Reserve

We will pick you up at your hotel in Salento and drive 30 minutes to the Santa Rita Natural Reserve by minibus, recognized for its diverse bird life.

Upon arrival, we will enjoy a breakfast of eggs, arepas, and chocolate or coffee, followed by a brief introduction to the biodiversity of the reserve.

Next, we will hike about 1.5 miles (2-3 km), where there is a chance to spot colorful birds like the cock-of-the-rock and the multicolored tanager. We will assist in identifying various species and share interesting facts about their lifestyles.

We will also visit the waterfall of the Santa Rita Reserve to discuss the relationship between birds and water.

After 4 hours of hiking, you will have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the reserve, take pictures near the waterfall, use binoculars to spot more birds, or relax in the natural surroundings.

The activity concludes with a drop-off at your hotel after approximately 8 hours.
