On this birdwatching experience in the Santa Rita Natural Reserve, we'll learn about and see a great variety of birds and then relax by a beautiful waterfall!

Birdwatching in Santa Rita Natural Reserve

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Salento and drive for 30 minutes to the Santa Rita Natural Reserve by minibus. The reserve is noted for its diverse bird life.

Upon arrival, we'll enjoy a breakfast of eggs, arepas, and chocolate or coffee. Then, a brief introduction about the biodiversity of the Santa Rita Reserve will be provided.

We will hike about 1.5 miles (2-3 km) to spot birds like the cock-of-the-rock and the multicolored tanager. We will assist you in identifying species and share facts about their lifestyles.

Additionally, we will visit the waterfall of the Santa Rita Reserve, discussing the relationship between birds and water.

After 4 hours of hiking, you will have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the reserve. You can photograph the waterfall, use binoculars to locate more birds, or simply relax.

The activity will conclude with a drop-off at your hotel after approximately 8 hours.
