Cerro Morrogacho Reserve Tour
At 6:30 am we'll meet at Carrera 5 in Salento. There we'll get into a 4x4 vehicle to start the excursion to the Cerro Morrogacho Reserve.
Upon arriving near the Cocora Valley, we'll begin a four-hour hike to the Cerro Morrogacho Reserve. Along the route, we'll encounter the typical vegetation of the Colombian Andean forest and various springs, vital for the region's water supply.
If fortunate, we may spot different specimens of the 31 bird species inhabiting this area, many of which are endangered. The guide will provide insights into their characteristics and how to identify them.
After climbing to 3450 metres (11318 feet) above sea level, we'll enjoy the views of the Cerro Morrogacho Reserve and its natural environment. We'll have time for photographs to capture the panoramic view of the Cocora Valley.
Following this, we'll begin our descent, pausing for a picnic lunch at a quiet location.
Upon reaching the valley's foot, we'll conclude the excursion and return to Salento by approximately 5 pm.
