Are you ready to immerse yourself in the enchanting vistas of the Cocora Valley? Join us on this hiking expedition around the Acaime Nature Reserve.

Description

We'll convene at the designated hour at the Our Lady of Carmen Church before embarking on our journey toward the Cocora Valley to initiate this hiking adventure.

Upon arrival, the hike will commence along the scenic paths of this remarkable region. Our route will take us past a renowned trout farm, allowing us to admire the breathtaking landscapes adorned with majestic wax palms.

We’ll venture through the forest within Los Nevados National Park until we reach the Acaime Reserve, where five hanging bridges span a sparkling stream, showcasing the rich diversity of Colombia's fauna and flora.

During our journey, we'll pause at a picturesque spot to savor a delightful hot chocolate or a traditional agunapanela drink paired with cheese. This interlude will be the perfect time to learn about the fascinating history of this picturesque area.

Following our break, our hike continues as we seek out the emerald toucan, a native bird of the Cocora Valley. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to observe over seven species of hummingbirds that thrive in this lush rainforest environment.

A delicious lunch will be served in another section of the reserve, featuring a traditional mountaineer cold cut, a chicken and cheese sandwich, jam and peanut butter, ham and cheese, or a vegan option. After our meal, we will start our descent down the mountain.

Eventually, we'll conclude our journey and bid farewell back at the meeting point following an enriching 8-hour experience.
