Do you want to lose yourself in the dreamy landscapes of the Cocora Valley? Then this hiking route around the Acaime Nature Reserve is for you.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Our Lady of Carmen Church and proceed to the Cocora Valley to begin the hiking route.
We will walk along the trails of this area, passing through a trout farm, while enjoying the landscape and its impressive wax palms.
We will cross through Los Nevados National Park to reach the Acaime Reserve, where we will see five hanging bridges that cross a stream, showcasing the diversity and beauty of Colombian fauna and flora.
A brief stop will be made for a hot chocolate or agunapanela with cheese, during which the history of the area will be shared.
After this, we will continue the hike to search for the emerald toucan and observe more than seven species of hummingbirds in the rainforest.
We will enjoy a lunch with options like a mountaineer cold meat or a sandwich (chicken and cheese, jam and peanut butter, ham and cheese, or vegan). Post-lunch, we will begin our descent down the mountain.
Finally, we will conclude the experience back at the starting point after 8 hours together.
