Do you want to lose yourself in the dreamy landscapes of the Cocora Valley? Then this hiking route around the Acaime Nature Reserve is for you.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Our Lady of Carmen Church and proceed towards the Cocora Valley to begin the hiking route.
We'll walk along the trails, passing through a trout farm while appreciating the landscape and its imposing wax palms.
Next, we'll cross the forest of Los Nevados National Park until we reach the Acaime Reserve, where we will see 5 hanging bridges over a stream and observe the diversity of Colombian fauna and flora.
We will take a brief stop to enjoy a hot chocolate or a typical drink of aguapanela with a piece of cheese, using this break to discuss the area's history.
Afterward, we'll continue the hike to search for the emerald toucan and observe more than 7 species of hummingbirds in the rainforest.
We'll have a delicious lunch with options such as a mountaineer cold meat, chicken and cheese sandwich, jam and peanut butter, ham and cheese, or a vegan sandwich. Following lunch, we will begin our descent down the mountain.
Finally, we'll conclude our adventure back at the starting point after 8 hours together.
