Machín Volcano Tour

This day trip to Machín volcano includes natural viewpoints, lush vegetation, and local cuisine. It offers an opportunity to engage with nature and explore one of Colombia's most notable volcanoes.

Day Trip Details

The adventure begins at the main park of Salento at the scheduled time. Prepare for exploration.

During the offroading trip, we will travel the National Trail, one of South America's oldest roads, experiencing remarkable landscapes and historical significance.

We will stop at the Nevados viewpoint for a delightful Colombian coffee and take in views like the Cascada de la Ceja. Afterward, a traditional breakfast will be served next to the tall wax palms, exclusive to the Colombian Andes and reaching heights of up to 70 meters (229 feet).

Reenergized, we'll head toward Toche for a typical lunch, enjoying the charming small town with its picturesque houses and views of the Andes. We will also see one of Colombia's most unusual cemeteries, located in the forest along the National Trail.

Upon reaching the Machín volcano, you will have approximately three hours for exploration. Don’t forget your camera to capture the unique stalagmites formed on the cave floors.

We will conclude our tour by returning to the meeting point in Salento at 7:30 pm.
