Machín Volcano Tour

This day trip to Machín volcano offers an opportunity to explore nature and discover one of the most notable volcanoes in Colombia.

Day Trip Details

The adventure begins at the main park of Salento at the scheduled time. Participants will embark on an offroading trip along the National Trail, a historic route in South America, showcasing significant landscapes.

During the journey, there will be a stop at the Nevados viewpoint to enjoy Colombian coffee and views of attractions like the Cascada de la Ceja. Following this, a traditional breakfast will be served next to the iconic wax palms, which are unique to the Colombian Andes, reaching heights of up to 70 meters (229 feet).

The trip continues to Toche, where a typical lunch will be enjoyed while appreciating the scenic beauty of this small town, known for its picturesque houses and the notable cemetery located in the forest alongside the National Trail.

Participants will then proceed to the Machín volcano, allowing approximately three hours of free time to explore the area and capture photos of the stalagmites in the caves.

Finally, the tour concludes with a return to the meeting point in Salento at 7:30 pm.
