Day Trip Details
The adventure begins at the main park of Salento at the scheduled time. Participants will embark on an offroading trip along the National Trail, one of the oldest routes in South America, featuring spectacular landscapes and significant historical context.
A stop will be made at the Nevados viewpoint for a chance to enjoy Colombian coffee while taking in views, including the Cascada de la Ceja. A traditional breakfast will be served next to the wax palms, which are unique to the Colombian Andes, reaching heights of up to 70 meters (229 feet).
Next, the group will head toward Toche to have a typical lunch in this quaint town, surrounded by the Andes. The route also includes a visit to an unusual cemetery located in the forest along the National Trail.
Upon reaching the Machín volcano, you'll have approximately three hours of free time to explore the area. Remember to bring a camera to capture the impressive stalagmites found on the cave floors.
