Day 1: Salento - Cocora Valley

Pickup will be from your hotel in Salento at 5 am for the journey to Cocora Valley in a 4x4 vehicle. An 18-kilometre (11 miles) trek begins upon arrival, featuring irregular and rocky stretches with Quindio wax palms, moorlands, and cloud forests. The day concludes with a rest at finca La Primavera at an altitude of 1800 metres (5905 feet).

Day 2: Cocora Valley - Arenales

The day starts with breakfast before an 8-kilometre (5 miles) hike that climbs 790 metres (2592 feet). The ascent to the slopes of Nevado del Tolima leads to areas with moorlands and a variety of bird species. You will reach an altitude of 4400 meters (14435 feet) and stay at the Arenales campsite.

Day 3: Arenales - Cañon Hot Springs

After breakfast, you will hike to the summit of Tolima volcano, exceeding 5200 metres (17060 feet). Views include volcanoes like Ruiz, El Cisne, and Santa Isabel. After descending, relax in the thermal springs of Cañón and camp at the hot springs.

Day 4: Cañón hot springs - Ibagué

The final day features an 18-kilometre (11 miles) alpine route, passing by Vancouver and Bombona lakes. The trek continues through Amberes valley to Palomar. You will finish the hike and board a vehicle to Ibagué, arriving by approximately 5:30 pm.
