Palma de Cera Ecocultural Centre Tour

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the corner of Carrera 7 and Calle 5 in the center of Salento. From there, we'll walk to the Palma de Cera Ecocultural Centre to learn about Colombia's national tree.

We'll enter the garden center and reveal all stages of the wax palm tree's life from seed to adult tree.

Afterward, we'll use a telescope to observe a wax palm tree in detail and review the different historical uses of this tree. We'll explain how palm trunks are utilized in bahareque, a traditional construction method.

Continuing our tour, we'll visit a viewpoint to appreciate the importance of the undergrowth for the wax palm tree, offering a photo opportunity.

After an hour, we'll conclude the guided tour at the Ecocultural Centre of Palma de Cera and return to the starting point. Finally, we'll say goodbye and provide a ticket for lunch at a nearby restaurant.
