Salento Viewpoints Tour
We will gather at the designated time at the steps of the church situated in the central park of Salento. From this meeting point, a 4x4 vehicle will transport us through the enchanting Cocora Valley. Prepare for a journey filled with breathtaking panoramas!
Upon reaching the valley, our adventure will continue with a two-hour hike to the Condor viewpoint. During this trek, we will encounter the unique flora surrounding us. Are you familiar with the wax palm? This remarkable tree not only stands out as a species but also holds the title of the national tree of Colombia, thriving exclusively in the Andean rainforests!
Reaching the El Condor viewpoint, perched at an impressive altitude of 2600 meters (8530 feet), we will pause for an hour. This time will be devoted to capturing photos, learning about the intriguing natural area, and truly connecting with our surroundings. From this vantage point, the breathtaking views of the Cocora Valley canyon await us, and with some luck, we may even spot the andean condor, the world's largest flying bird. So, keep your eyes wide open!
Once we've appreciated the views, we will trek back down to Cocora Valley, where you’ll have an hour and a half to enjoy lunch at your own pace. The tour will then proceed as we explore the town and uncover its most notable viewpoints.
After an enriching 8-hour experience, we will return to Salento, concluding the tour where we initially started.
