Tochecito Sanctuary Private Tour
At the designated time, we'll meet at Parque Principal de Salento and travel in an offroading vehicle to the Wax Palm Sanctuary of Tochecito. This protected reserve in the Eje Cafetero of Colombia is one of the few locations where the national tree of Colombia is found.
We'll start the tour in Tochecito, sharing interesting facts about the wax palm tree, which can live for over two hundred years. This endangered species is notable for its height and unusual trunk. The route includes visits to Finca Leona or Finca Carbonera.
Afterward, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch featuring traditional sancocho or ajiaco. After lunch, we will either return to the meeting point in Salento by offroading vehicle or undertake a 15-kilometer (9.3-mile) hike, depending on weather and group preference.
Arrival at the meeting point in Salento is scheduled for 8 to 10 hours after pickup.
