Tochecito Sanctuary Private Tour
At the designated time, we'll meet at Parque Principal de Salento and travel in an offroading vehicle to the Wax Palm Sanctuary of Tochecito, located in the Eje Cafetero of Colombia, the habitat of the national tree of Colombia.
We will tour Tochecito while learning about the wax palm tree, which can live for over two hundred years. This endangered species is notable for its height and unusual trunk. The route includes a visit to Finca Leona or Finca Carbonera.
Afterward, we will have a traditional sancocho or ajiaco for lunch. Post-lunch, we will return to the meeting point in Salento either in the offroading vehicle or via a 15-kilometer (9.3-mile) hike, depending on the weather and group preference.
Arrival at the meeting point in Salento is expected 8 to 10 hours after pickup.
