Ticket to the Fort de Salses

Travel back in time with this ticket to the Fort de Salses, an architectural masterpiece recognized for its military significance. Its strategic location has led to numerous conflicts between Spain and France, ultimately falling under French control in 1642.

This ticket allows you to explore the fortress at your own pace, discovering its various sections including the common area, the stronghold, and the keep, which served as the fortress's last refuge.

The fortress has undergone several reconstructions by military engineer Vauban, providing a unique opportunity to appreciate the ingenuity of this French marshal!

Opening Times

The Fort de Salses is open Monday to Sunday with the following schedule:

April 1 to September 30: from 10 am to 6:30 pm (uninterrupted)From October 1 to March 31: from 10 am to 12:45 pm and from 2 pm to 5:15 pm

The last entry is allowed 45 minutes before closing time.

Free Admission

Admission to the Fort de Salses is free for the following:

Young people from the European Union aged 18 to 25.Children under 18 years old, regardless of nationality.

To receive the free admission, visit the ticket office and present a valid ID to verify your eligibility.

Admission is also free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month from January to March, from November to December, and during the third weekend of September.

Fort de Salses

Starting from May 16, 2025, there will be artworks displayed in the Fort de Salses, which will result in the closure of the tower and upper sections.
