Ticket to the Fort de Salses

This ticket grants access to the Fort de Salses, a fortress known for its military architecture. Its strategic location has resulted in disputes between Spain and France, with France conquering it in 1642. The ticket allows you to explore the fortress freely, including the common area, the stronghold, and the keep.

The fortress features reconstructions by military engineer Vauban, offering insights into his skills.

Opening times

The Fort de Salses is open Monday to Sunday:

April 1 to September 30: from 10 am to 6:30 pm (uninterrupted)October 1 to March 31: from 10 am to 12:45 pm and from 2 pm to 5:15 pm

Last access is allowed 45 minutes before closing.

Special Hours

On February 6, 2025, the castle will open at 2 pm.

Free admission

Admission is free for:

Young people from the EU aged 18 to 25.Children under 18, regardless of nationality.

To obtain free admission, visit the site’s ticket office with a valid ID. Admission is also free on the first Sunday of the month from January to March and November to December, as well as the third weekend of September.
