Discover the enormous reservoir of Cabra Corral on this trip from Salta. This lake features one of the key dams in northern Argentina.

Cabra Corral Reservoir Trip

The tour departs from the center of Salta at 9:30 am, traveling south along the RN68 road through the Lerma Valley.

During the journey, we will pass through villages such as Cerrillos, La Merced, El Carril, and Coronel Moldes. After leaving RN68, we will take the road to the Cabra Corral reservoir, known for its significant dam.

Participants will have approximately one hour of free time to enjoy refreshments and views of this vast water body. The reservoir, the second largest in Argentina, is formed by the confluence of the Pasaje, Juramento, and Salado rivers, producing substantial hydroelectric energy for various provinces in the northwest.

This engineering project, built between 1966 and 1972, stands at a height of 305 feet. Its capacity could fill several dozen Olympic swimming pools.

After enjoying the landscapes of Cabra Corral, we will return to the center of Salta, arriving around 2 pm.
