Make your way through the most iconic villages in northern Argentina on this day trip to Iruya!
Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Salta for our day trip to Iruya, a picturesque village in northern Argentina.
Initially, we'll visit General Güemes before taking the highway into the province of Jujuy and the Quebrada de Humahuaca, the sole passage to Iruya.
During our journey, we'll stop at several towns, including Purmamarca, Tilcara, and Humahuaca. Photography enthusiasts will find excellent vantage points at Maimará and the intersection of the Tropic of Capricorn.
Next, we'll pass through Iturbe and ascend to the Abra del Condor, the region's highest point at 4,000 meters (13,123 feet) above sea level.
Afterward, we'll begin the descent of 1,220 meters (4,000 feet) to reach Iruya, founded in 1753, where agriculture is the primary livelihood of its residents.
In Iruya, you'll have two hours of free time to enjoy a meal and explore the town's attractions, including the town's church, the central square, and viewpoints like La Cruz and El Condor.
After 13 hours of adventure, we'll return you to your hotel in Salta.
