Day Trip to Quebrada del Toro + Santa Rosa de Tastil

On this day trip from Salta, you'll visit Quebrada del Toro and the site of Santa Rosa de Tastil, an important archaeological site in northern Argentina.

Description

At the designated time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Salta for the day trip to Santa Rosa de Tastil.

The first stop is Campo Quijano, a town referred to as the 'door to the Andes'. We will travel through a scenic mountainous route to Quebrada del Toro, providing panoramic views along the way, ideal for photo opportunities.

Continuing, we will see the Tren a las Nubes viaduct before reaching Quebrada del Toro, where we will take in one of the most notable views of Salta. Subsequently, we will head to Santa Rosa de Tastil, a town with a local indigenous community.

In Santa Rosa de Tastil, situated 3,200 meters (10,498 feet) above the Calchaquíes Valleys, we will explore the Tastil ruins, one of the largest pre-Colombian cities in Argentina. Free time will be provided for lunch at one of the local restaurants before we return to Salta, concluding our tour.
