We'll commence our excursion with a pickup from your hotel in Salta, setting our course westward toward one of the most breathtaking lagoons in northern Argentina.

As we proceed, the route will lead us through the majestic Andes Mountains, specifically navigating the Quebrada del Toro. During this initial segment, we’ll travel on the iconic Train to the Clouds route, allowing us to visit the archaeological remains of Tastil, an ancient Inca city that once accommodated around 2,000 inhabitants.

At this historic site, we'll explore the citadel of Santa Rosa de Tastil, including its remarkable terraces and museum. Following this enriching visit, we will continue our journey until we reach the Toro Lagoon, which sits at an elevation exceeding 3,000 meters. This unique ecosystem is home to a variety of bird species.

Upon reaching the lagoon, we will stroll along its banks, engaging in a bird-watching session to observe the Andean flamingos. These elegant pink birds can be seen here year-round, with their largest population present between May and September, aligning with the colder months of the southern hemisphere.

Throughout our exploration, we will also spot other native birdlife of the Toro Lagoon. Weather permitting, expect to encounter ducks, Andean avocets, and guayatas. To recharge, a delightful picnic lunch will be provided, featuring a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a slice of cake, and two bottles of mineral water.

After rejuvenating, we will begin our return journey to Salta, culminating our nine-hour adventure filled with exploration and wonder.
