Day Trip to the Toro Lagoon

On this excursion to Laguna del Toro, we will visit a lake in Salta for a flamingo-watching activity.

Tour Highlights

At the designated time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Salta and head west towards a beautiful lagoon in northern Argentina. We will travel along the Andes Mountains through the Quebrada del Toro. This route includes the Train to the Clouds, allowing access to the ruins of Tastil, an ancient Inca city.

We will visit the archaeological site of the citadel of Santa Rosa de Tastil, including its terraces and museum. Our next destination is the Toro Lagoon, located at over 3000 meters altitude, known for being a habitat for numerous species of birds.

Upon arrival, we will tour the shores for a bird-watching activity of Andean flamingos. These birds inhabit the lagoon year-round, with peak numbers between May and September. We will also observe other native birds, such as ducks, Andean avocets, and guayatas. Afterward, we will enjoy a picnic lunch with a sandwich, fruit, cake, and two bottles of mineral water.

Once refreshed, we will return to Salta, completing the excursion after nine hours.
