Are you a nature enthusiast? If you're in Salta, you can't miss this breathtaking hiking route through San Lorenzo, the most beautiful natural area in northern Argentina.

San Lorenzo Hiking Tour

We have 2 different hiking routes in San Lorenzo available for you to choose between. Both activities include pickup at your hotel in Salta, transportation to and from San Lorenzo, and a knowledgeable guide.

Lunch is not included. A stop will be made during the hike for you to have lunch on your own. Remember to bring a picnic!

Option 1: 3-Hour Hike

This easier hiking trip covers 8 to 10 kilometers (5 - 6.2 miles) on various trails through the forests of the Argentine Andes, known as yungas. As we walk around the town's surroundings, we'll appreciate local plants such as epiphytes and vines. Following the San Lorenzo ravine, we will hike upstream along the river and reach a point with panoramic views of Salta.

Departure times: 10 am and 3 pm

Option 2: 7-Hour Hike

This more difficult hike is 19 kilometers (12 miles) long. We will ascend through the San Lorenzo ravine towards the high mountains of the Eastern Cordillera. The hike includes crossing lush mountain jungle landscapes, with observations of local tree species like ceibos and cedars, reaching an altitude of 2400 meters (7,900 feet) for views of the Lerma Valley.
