Are you a nature enthusiast? If you're in Salta, you can't miss this breathtaking hiking route through San Lorenzo, the most beautiful natural area in northern Argentina.

San Lorenzo Hiking Tour

We have 2 different hiking routes in San Lorenzo available. Both activities include pickup at your hotel in Salta, transportation to and from San Lorenzo, and a knowledgeable guide. Lunch is not included; we will stop during the hike for you to have lunch on your own. Remember to bring a picnic.

Option 1: 3-Hour Hike

This easier hike covers 8 to 10 kilometers (5 - 6.2 miles) through the forests of Argentine Andes (yungas). We will appreciate a variety of local plants, such as epiphytes and vines. After reaching the San Lorenzo ravine, we will hike upstream along the river to enjoy panoramic views of Salta.

Departure times: 10 am and 3 pm

Option 2: 7-Hour Hike

This more difficult hike is 19 kilometers (12 miles) long. We will ascend through the San Lorenzo ravine towards the Eastern Cordillera. The trail leads through the mountain jungle to observe trees like ceibos, walnuts, and cedars. We will reach an altitude of 2400 meters (7,900 feet) for views of the Lerma Valley.
