Are you a nature enthusiast? If you're in Salta, you can't miss this hiking route through San Lorenzo, the most beautiful natural area in northern Argentina.

San Lorenzo Hiking Tour

We have 2 different hiking routes in San Lorenzo available. Both activities include pickup at your hotel in Salta and transportation to and from San Lorenzo, along with a knowledgeable guide.

Lunch is not included. A stop will be made during the hike for you to have lunch on your own. Remember to bring along a picnic!

Option 1: 3-Hour Hike

This easier hiking trip involves walking 8 to 10 kilometers (5 - 6.2 miles) along various trails through the Argentine Andes forests, known as yungas. As we walk around the town, you will appreciate local plants such as epiphytes and vines.

Upon reaching the San Lorenzo ravine, we will follow the river upstream until we reach a point for panoramic views of Salta.

Departure times: 10 am and 3 pm

Option 2: 7-Hour Hike

This more difficult hike is 19 kilometers (12 miles) long. We will ascend through the San Lorenzo ravine towards the high mountains of the Eastern Cordillera.

We will traverse lush landscapes of the mountain jungle, observing local tree species such as ceibos, walnut trees, and cedars. The hike will reach an altitude of 2400 meters (7,900 feet) for views of the Lerma Valley.
