Are you a nature enthusiast? If you're in Salta, you can't miss this breathtaking hiking route through San Lorenzo, the most beautiful natural area in northern Argentina.

San Lorenzo Hiking Tour

We have 2 different hiking routes in San Lorenzo. Both activities include pickup at your hotel in Salta and transportation to and from San Lorenzo with a knowledgeable guide. Lunch is not included, but a stop will be made during the hike for you to have lunch on your own. Bring a picnic to enjoy the views.

Option 1: 3-Hour Hike

This easier trip involves walking 8 to 10 kilometers (5 - 6.2 miles) through the forests of the Argentine Andes, known as yungas. Along the way, you'll observe various local plants including epiphytes and vines. After reaching the San Lorenzo ravine, we will hike upstream along the river to enjoy panoramic views of the city of Salta.

Departure times: 10 am and 3 pm

Option 2: 7-Hour Hike

This more difficult hike is 19 kilometers (12 miles) long. We will ascend through the San Lorenzo ravine toward the Eastern Cordillera, passing through the mountain jungle with various tree species like ceibos and cedars. We will climb to an altitude of 2400 meters (7,900 feet) for exceptional views of the Lerma Valley.
