Are you a nature enthusiast? If you're in Salta, you can't miss this breathtaking hiking route through San Lorenzo, the most beautiful natural area in northern Argentina.

San Lorenzo Hiking Tour

We have 2 different hiking routes in San Lorenzo available for you to choose between. Both activities include pickup at your hotel in Salta, transportation to and from San Lorenzo, and a knowledgeable guide.

Lunch is not included. However, we'll make a stop during the hike so that you can have lunch on your own while appreciating the views. Please bring a picnic.

Option 1: 3-Hour Hike

This easier hiking trip covers 8 to 10 kilometers (5 - 6.2 miles) through the forests of Argentine Andes, known as yungas. As we walk around the areas surrounding the town, we will observe a variety of local plants, including epiphytes and different vines.

We will follow the San Lorenzo ravine along the river upstream, ultimately reaching a point with panoramic views of Salta.

Departure times: 10 am and 3 pm

Option 2: 7-Hour Hike

This more difficult hike is 19 kilometers (12 miles) long. We will begin by ascending through the San Lorenzo ravine towards the high mountains of the Eastern Cordillera.

We will cross lush mountain jungle landscapes, observing trees such as ceibos, walnut trees, and cedars. We will climb to an altitude of 2400 meters (7,900 feet) for the best views of the Lerma Valley.
