Do you like trying new flavours? At this cooking class in Salvador de Bahía, you'll learn to make traditional Afro-Brazilian dishes with a local family - a unique experience!
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Salvador de Bahía to begin this experience. Ready to learn to cook Brazil's most typical dishes? Let's go!
Firstly, we'll head to the Fish Market to buy some ingredients for the class. As we walk, we'll discuss traditional recipes from Bahía and identify which fish is best for each dish, particularly the moqueca, an Afro-Brazilian speciality that we'll prepare.
Next, we'll visit the Rio Vermelho Market for fresh vegetables and fruit to make an authentic caipirinha. This drink is named after the caipiras, the native people of the rural area of São Paulo.
After shopping, we'll proceed to the house of an Afro-Brazilian family. Once introduced, we will enter the kitchen to start cooking. After the class, we will taste our creations!
We will sample fish moqueca, caipirinha, accompanied by beans, rice, farofa, and plantain jam. This is an opportunity to explore different Afro-Brazilian flavours!
Finally, we will conclude our experience back at the starting point after 5 hours together.
