On this cultural tour of Salvador, we'll enjoy Bahian tradition as we visit the old house of the writer Jorge Amado, as well as spaces dedicated to the painter Carybé and the photographer Pierre Verger.
Bahia Culture Tour
After picking you up between 12:30 pm and 2 pm at your hotel in Salvador de Bahia, we'll begin a tour of the city that will immerse us in Bahian culture.
Our first stop is the Casa do Rio Vermelho, where writer Jorge Amado and his wife Zélia Gattai lived. Amado maintained a friendship with the painter Carybé and the photographer Pierre Verger. Together, they promoted baianidade, a significant artistic movement.
Next, we will visit the Santa Maria fort to explore the Verger space, dedicated to the work of the French-born photographer who documented customs and traditions across various countries, including Brazil.
The tour continues at the San Diego Fort, housing the Carybé space. Carybé, an Argentine who became a Brazilian national, produced ceramics, murals, sculptures, engravings, and paintings, showcasing his versatility.
We will conclude the tour by returning to your hotel in Salvador de Bahia, aiming to arrive by 6:30 pm.
