Bahia Culture Tour: Jorge Amado's House + Carybé & Pierre Verger Spaces

On this cultural tour of Salvador, we'll enjoy Bahian tradition as we visit the old house of the writer Jorge Amado, spaces dedicated to the painter Carybé, and the photographer Pierre Verger.

Bahia Culture Tour

After picking you up between 12:30 pm and 2 pm at your hotel in Salvador de Bahia, we'll start the immersion in Bahian culture.

First, we'll visit the Casa do Rio Vermelho, the residence of Jorge Amado and his wife Zélia Gattai. The writer had a close friendship with Carybé and Pierre Verger, all key figures promoting the artistic movement known as baianidade.

Next, we'll proceed to the Santa Maria fort to explore the Verger space, which showcases the work of the photographer who captured the customs and traditions of various countries, including Brazil.

The tour continues at the San Diego Fort, home to the Carybé space. Carybé, an Argentine who adopted Brazilian nationality, created works ranging from ceramics and murals to sculptures and engravings, showcasing his versatility as an artist.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Salvador de Bahia, arriving at 6:30 pm.
