On this cultural tour of Salvador, we'll explore Bahian tradition with visits to the old house of writer Jorge Amado, and spaces dedicated to painter Carybé and photographer Pierre Verger.
Bahia Culture Tour
We'll pick you up between 12:30 pm and 2 pm at your hotel in Salvador de Bahia. This tour will provide an immersive experience in Bahian culture.
Our first stop will be the Casa do Rio Vermelho, where Jorge Amado and his wife Zélia Gattai lived. Amado, along with Carybé and Pierre Verger, played a crucial role in the baianidade artistic movement.
Next, we will visit the Santa Maria fort to explore the Verger space, showcasing the work of the French-born photographer who documented diverse customs and traditions, including those of Brazil.
Our final stop will be at the San Diego Fort, home to the Carybé space. This artist, originally from Argentina, contributed significantly through ceramics, murals, sculptures, and paintings.
We will return to your hotel in Salvador de Bahia by 6:30 pm.
