Salvador da Bahia is a city with significant churches. This tour of the Bonfim church and the Irmã Dulce sanctuary will explore a few of the most important sites.

Bonfim Church & Irmã Dulce Sanctuary tour

Hotel pickup in Salvador da Bahia will be between 12:30 pm and 2 pm. We will visit the main Catholic temples known for their designs.

The first stop will be the Basilica of Our Lady of the Conception, a baroque-style temple constructed over 100 years using stones from Portugal, where we will view the carving of the patron saint of Bahia.

Next, we will visit the sanctuary of Irmã Dulce, the first Brazilian saint, where we will learn about her story at the temple, also known as the church of the Immaculate Conception of Mary.

The tour continues to the Sacred Hill, featuring the church of Our Lord of Bonfim. Here, we will see colorful ribbons tied by faithful individuals seeking protection or good luck. Visitors will have the opportunity to tie their own ribbon if desired.

The tour will conclude with a return to your hotel in Salvador around 6:30 pm.
