Capoeira is a sport with Afro-Brazilian origins, blending martial arts, dance, and music. Its origins are linked to enslaved African descendants in Brazil, dating back to the end of the 16th century in Quilombo dos Palmares. This discipline features complex and agile movements along with its unique musicality, as capoeiristas learn to play traditional instruments like the berimbau, atabaque, pandeiro, and reco-reco.

Those who disregard music in capoeira are often seen as lacking sportsmanship. Are you ready for the challenge?

What to Expect

We'll meet at Largo do Pelourinho to start our capoeira class in Salvador de Bahia. Prepare to experience a different side of Brazilian culture!

In the class, you'll engage with this art form through movement and music, experiencing the energy, strength, and mental balance it offers. You'll learn the movements and basic rules alongside other students. After 2 hours of rhythmic movement, we will conclude our experience with a dance.

Hotel Pickup

During booking, you may choose to include hotel pickup or not. If opting for pickup, we will collect you from your hotel 1.5 hours before the activity begins to ensure you arrive at the capoeira class together.
