We'll meet at the scheduled time at Largo de Santo Antônio Além do Carmo. Once assembled, we'll start the free tour through the neighborhoods of Santo Antônio Além do Carmo and Pelourinho.
The tour will begin by exploring the churches of Santo Antônio Além do Carmo. We'll stroll along Rua dos Carvões, learning about the history of Salvador's slaves and the legends associated with them.
Next, we'll navigate Rua Direita, where Santo Antônio Além do Carmo reveals its artistic side through graffiti. We'll pause at the Church of Boqueirão and the Cruz do Pascaoal monument, crafted in 1743. Our journey will include visits to Nossa Senhora do Carmo Church and Santíssimo Sacramento do Passo Church, and we'll explore Afro-Brazilian cultural connections at Casa do Benin.
We will then proceed to Pelourinho, walking through streets lined with 17th and 18th-century mansions recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
We'll enter Largo do Terreiro de Jesus, in Praça XV de Novembro, visiting the cathedral, Church of the Third Order of São Domingos Gusmão, Church of São Pedro dos Clérigos, and the monument of the Fallen Cross.
We will conclude at the Carnaval Museum, which details the history and culture of the Baianao Carnival, highlighting traditions through various exhibitions.
