Tour with lunch in a favela (6 hours)
After hotel pickup, the African Culture Tour in Salvador de Bahía starts at the Rio Vermelho promenade, visiting the sacred altar of Yemanja. Next, we stop at Dique do Tororó to take photos of African monuments, followed by a visit to the Feira de São Joaquim market, an Intangible Heritage site, where you can experience traditional stalls and taste acarajé.
Then, we will explore the Candomblé Sacred Temple, learning about Ewé-fon African religion. The tour concludes with lunch in a local favela, featuring a traditional dish of fish or prawn stew, beef fillet, or fried fish, served with rice, beans, and farofa before returning to your hotel.
Tour with feijoada with a local family (7 hours)
This option begins in the Pelourinho neighbourhood, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We visit the Afro-Brazilian Museum to explore local culture and the Ferroviario Neighbourhood to learn about the descendants of slaves, followed by the Feira de São Joaquim market and the old slave market.
The route also includes the Candomblé Sacred Temple. Finally, we reach the Garcia Neighbourhood to enjoy a traditional feijoada with an Afro-Brazilian family before returning to your hotel.
