Tour with lunch in a favela (6 hours)

Starting at the Rio Vermelho promenade, we will visit the sacred altar of the African deity Yemanja. Next, we’ll stop at Dique do Tororó for photos of African monuments, followed by a visit to the Feira de São Joaquim market, where we will explore traditional stalls and try the acarajé.

We will continue to the Candomblé Sacred Temple to learn about the Ewé-fon African religion, then proceed to a favela for lunch with community members. The menu includes a choice of fish or prawn stew, beef fillet, or fried fish, accompanied by rice, beans, and farofa, before returning to your hotel.

Tour with feijoada with a local family (7 hours)

This option begins in the Pelourinho neighbourhood with a visit to the Afro-Brazilian Museum and the Ferroviario Neighbourhood to learn about descendants of slaves. We will explore the Feira de São Joaquim market and the old slave market in Salvador, before visiting the Candomblé Sacred Temple.

Finally, we will head to the Garcia Neighbourhood for a lunch of feijoada, a bean stew with beef and pork, before returning to your hotel in Salvador.
