The Sound of Music Tour
The tour meets on Hubert-Sattler-Gasse street, beginning at the Mirabell Gardens, where Maria teaches the children the iconic song. The route continues by bus to the Leopoldskron Palace, adjacent to a lake featured in various film scenes. Next, we head to Hellbrunn Palace, where the song Sixteen Going on Seventeen and the scene of Maria and Baron Von Trapp's kiss were filmed. Our following stop is in front of the Nonnberg Abbey, a site connected with the Von Trapp family.
We then proceed from the historic center of Salzburg to the picturesque landscapes of Lake Wolfgang and Lake Fuschl, where the opening scenes of The Sound of Music were recorded. To conclude the tour, we visit the town of Mondsee and explore the church that hosted the wedding in the film. There will be no spoilers for those who have yet to see it!
Finally, with the melody of the film echoing in our memories, we return to Salzburg to conclude the tour.
