On this hiking tour on the Cotopaxi volcano, we'll go on an unforgettable adventure in Ecuador and climb the second-tallest active volcano in the world!

Cotopaxi Volcano Hiking Tour

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the meeting point of your choice in Quito. We will then travel to the Cotopaxi National Park for a trekking route on one of the highest peaks in Ecuador.

Our journey includes traveling along the avenue of volcanoes while admiring the Andean landscapes. We will stop to acclimatize to the altitude before heading to the base of Cotopaxi volcano at 15,092 ft (4,600 meters) above sea level. Here, we'll start the hiking route to the Rivas Refuge at 15,958 ft (4,864 meters). This 1-hour hike includes insights into the national park's fauna and flora.

At the refuge, we will take a short break and stamp our passports to certify our visit. Continuing on foot, we'll reach 16,732 ft (5,100 meters) for views of the Cotopaxi glacier.

For the descent to the Limpiopung lagoon, we will combine walking, minibus, and cycling. Following our activities, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant and then return to Quito after a total of 11 hours of excursion.
