Cotopaxi Volcano Hiking Tour

We will meet at your chosen location in Quito and depart for the Cotopaxi National Park. The trek will take us through the avenue of volcanoes, showcasing the Andean landscapes. We will stop to acclimatize to the altitude before proceeding to the base of the Cotopaxi volcano, situated at 15,092 ft (4,600 meters) above sea level. Here, we will begin the hiking route to the Rivas Refuge, at 15,958 ft (4,864 meters), accompanied by an informative session on the local fauna and flora during our 1-hour hike.

At the refuge, we will take a break and stamp our passports to certify our visit. Then, we will continue hiking to 16,732 ft (5,100 meters) for a view of the Cotopaxi glacier. After this, we will descend to the Limpiopung lagoon, using a combination of walking, minibus, and cycling for a more dynamic experience.

Afterwards, we will have lunch at a nearby restaurant and return to Quito, completing an approximately 11-hour excursion.
