Embark on a remarkable journey through the picturesque villages of Imbabura province. Leaving behind the bustling city of Quito, we will delve into stunning valleys, majestic volcanoes, serene lakes, and other captivating landscapes.

Tour Overview

At the scheduled hour, we will collect you from your accommodation in Quito to commence our exploration of the charming villages in the Imbabura region.

As we board our minibus, a drive of approximately 1.5 hours will lead us to our first destination: Cayambe. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to visit a bizococho (a local biscuit) factory. If you wish, you may enjoy a delicious breakfast here.

With your appetite satisfied, we will set off towards the delightful city of Otavalo. On our way, a brief stop at Lake San Pablo will allow for stunning photos, including views of the majestic Taita Imbabura. Once in Otavalo, you can stroll through the vibrant Plaza de Ponchos, one of Ecuador's oldest traditional markets, and witness the daily lives of the local community.

Our next adventure includes a serene boat ride across the captivating Cuicocha Lagoon. Here, you will enjoy a leisurely boat excursion while discovering the fascinating legends linked to this site, including its origin from a phreatic eruption that occurred 3,100 years ago.

After exploring the lagoon, we'll provide you some free time to enjoy lunch at a local eatery before we continue our exploration of Imbabura's villages. In the afternoon, we will visit Cotacachi, famous for its fine leather goods. You will have the chance to browse numerous shops featuring artisanal items crafted from leather.

Before we begin our journey back to Quito, we will stop at a shop where you can purchase chocolates made from the finest cocoa in the country.

After a day filled with exploring the iconic sights of Imbabura province, we will return to Quito, concluding our tour approximately 12 hours later.
