Can you imagine being in both hemispheres at the same time? On this trip from Quito, you'll be able to put one foot on each side of the equatorial line that marks the Middle of the World.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll head north to Mitad del Mundo, or 'Middle of the World', famous for the monument marking the exact location of the equator. In a natural landscape, the Equatorial Monument stands at latitude 0º0'0", showcasing a pyramidal-quadrangular shape with four monoliths that indicate the four cardinal points.
We'll see the Ethnographic Museum and the equinoctial line, which divides the earth's hemispheres. With one foot on each side of this line, you'll be in both the northern and southern hemispheres. This area also allows free time to try local cuisine, such as yahuarlocro, a potato-based soup, or explore nearby ancestral dwellings.
Afterwards, we'll regroup to return to the starting point, with a total duration of 4 to 5 hours.
