Details of the Day Trip

At the scheduled time, your pickup will commence from your accommodation in Quito, directing us towards the Papallacta Hot Springs, which are nestled in the Andes approximately 41 miles (67 kilometers) to the east of the city.

As we journey along, you'll witness stunning mountain scenery adorned with lush vegetation, and with some luck, you may spot native wildlife, such as the spectacled bear. A brief stop will also be made at the Quijos viewpoint, where you can admire the breathtaking Antisana volcano.

After around 1.5 hours on the road, we will arrive at Papallacta, located in the Napo province. You will be enchanted by the area’s natural beauty, which plays a crucial role in providing drinking water to Quito.

The thermal complex is undoubtedly the highlight of this excursion. You will have a generous 3 hours to unwind in the various volcanic water pools, celebrated for their healing properties. As you relax in these soothing waters, take in the remarkable vistas of the Cayambe volcano. Leaving this paradise could prove to be a challenge!

In addition to the pools, you'll have access to the steam cave circuit and the opportunity to have lunch at the restaurant within the complex, featuring a selection of traditional dishes.

We will then return to Quito, concluding our adventure at your hotel after approximately 6 hours.
