Day Trip Overview

At the arranged time, we'll collect you from your accommodation in Quito and set off toward the Papallacta Hot Springs. This enchanting location is nestled within the Andes, situated 41 mi (67 km) to the east of the capital city.

During our journey, we will traverse through picturesque mountain scenery adorned with lush vegetation. With a bit of luck, we may catch a glimpse of the area's distinctive wildlife, including the majestic spectacled bear. We will also take a brief pause at the Quijos viewpoint to enjoy the breathtaking view of the volcano of Antisana.

After approximately 1.5 hours of travel, we'll arrive at Papallacta, located in the province of Napo. You will be captivated by its natural beauty and its essential role as Quito’s main source of potable water.

The highlight of this excursion undoubtedly lies within its renowned thermal complex. You will have 3 hours of leisure time to unwind in the various volcanic water pools, celebrated for their healing qualities. As you immerse yourself in these soothing waters, enjoy the magnificent sights of the volcano of Cayambe. It promises to be a memorable experience!

In addition to the pools, you'll enjoy access to the steam caves circuit, and you can select lunch at your convenience at the restaurant within the complex, which serves delicious local cuisine.
