We will pick you up at your hotel in Quito to start our private tour. Our first stop is the National Basilica of Quito, located in the city's historic center. This significant neo-Gothic cathedral is the largest of its kind in America. During the visit, we'll explore its interior, vibrant stained glass windows, and towering spires.
Next, we'll stroll through Quito's old town to the Plaza de la Independencia, or Plaza Grande, where we will discuss the Independence Monument and its historical importance. We will then admire the facade of the Government Palace before visiting the Church of the Society of Jesus.
The facade of La Compañía, carved from volcanic stone, is a unique baroque feature. Inside, the gold-adorned columns, chapels, and walls exemplify why it is called the "jewel of America."
