Discover the beauty surrounding Quito on an engaging day trip to Santo Domingo de Los Tsachilas. This experience offers a glimpse into an indigenous community, opportunities to hike through lush jungles, and the chance to witness stunning waterfalls.

Excursion to Santo Domingo de Los Tsachilas

Your adventure begins early with a pick-up from your accommodation in Quito, scheduled between 5:15 and 6 am. We will set off towards the Ecuadorian province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, where you will be immersed in the verdant landscapes of the Choco Andino Reserve and the imposing peaks of the Los Ilinizas Ecological Reserve.

After a journey lasting about 3 hours and 30 minutes, we will embark on a brief forest walk, where you can marvel at up to three awe-inspiring waterfalls—ideal places for a refreshing swim.

Next, our tour leads us to the Chigüilpe commune. Here, a 1-hour guided experience awaits, during which you will explore the rich culture and beliefs of the Tsáchilas. You'll have the opportunity to observe their traditional homes, witness a spear demonstration, taste local delicacies, and learn about their unique cotton processing methods.

Afterward, you will have the freedom to enjoy lunch and further explore the community at your leisure. Once you feel reenergized, we'll make our way to the San Gabriel Del Baba boardwalk, where the enchanting views of the river amidst abundant greenery will surely leave an impression.

Your day will conclude with a return to your hotel at around 8 pm.
