Santo Domingo de Los Tsachilas Day Trip

Starting with a hotel pick-up in Quito between 5:15 and 6:00 am, the journey heads to the Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas province. The tour features the Choco Andino Reserve's green vegetation and the Los Ilinizas Ecological Reserve's high mountains.

After a 3-hour and 30-minute drive, participants will embark on a short forest walk, encountering up to three waterfalls, providing an opportunity for a swim.

Next, the tour proceeds to the Chigüilpe commune for a 1-hour guided exploration of the Tsáchilas culture and beliefs. Visitors will observe traditional houses, witness a spear demonstration, sample local products, and learn about cotton processing.

Free time will be available for meals and further community exploration. The final stop is the San Gabriel Del Baba boardwalk, where the river views and lush vegetation are highlights.

The tour concludes with a return to your hotel around 8:00 pm.

Hotel pick up

The tour includes pick-up from hotels in the Quito Metropolitan District. Those staying in the northern area, such as San Antonio to Cotocollao or Tumbaco Valley, will incur a supplement of 10 USD per person on the day of the tour.
