Yanacocha Reserve Adventure

Your adventure begins with a pickup at 7 am from a designated meeting point in Quito, followed by a trip to the Yanacocha Reserve.

Nestled to the north of the Ecuadorian capital, this reserve lies on the slopes of the Guagua Pichincha Volcano and is celebrated for its distinctive Polylepis forests. Discover the unique attributes of these remarkable trees as you explore!

The combination of lush forestry and a humid environment makes the Yanacocha Reserve a haven for numerous high-altitude bird species, including the masked flowerpiercer and the tororoí rufos. Additionally, you will find the country’s largest collection of hummingbirds, boasting over 50 different species!

Midway through the tour, we will take a break to savor a snack, featuring a traditional quesadilla (a delicious corn and cheese dish), chulips chocos (a well-loved Andean snack made from toasted grains), and a soft drink or water. Enjoy this serene setting while unwinding with a delightful treat.

As the tour wraps up, you will be returned to the meeting point in Quito, around 1 pm.
