Discover magnificent Andean forests and fascinating species of mountain birds on this trip to the Yanacocha Reserve from Quito.

Yanacocha Reserve Tour

We'll pick you up from the meeting point in Quito at 7 am and set off for the Yanacocha Reserve. This area is located on the slopes of the Guagua Pichincha Volcano and is known for its Polylepis forests. The lush forests and humid climate attract many high-altitude birds, including the masked flowerpiercer and tororoí rufos. Over 50 different species of hummingbirds can be found here as well.

At midday, we'll enjoy a snack consisting of a quesadilla (traditional corn and cheese dish), chulips chocos (toasted grains snack), and a soft drink or water. We'll drop you off at the meeting point in Quito at around 1 pm.

Pick up

This trip includes pick up from hotels in Quito's historic centre: Hotel Casa El Edén, Portal de Cantuña, Casa Gangotena, San Blas, and Casa Foch. If you're not staying at these hotels, we'll meet on Calle Vicente Ramón Roca E8-57.
