Yanacocha Reserve Tour
We'll pick you up from the meeting point in Quito at 7 am and set off for the Yanacocha Reserve. This area, north of Quito and on the slopes of the Guagua Pichincha Volcano, is known for its Polylepis forests. The lush forests and humid climate attract many high-altitude birds, including the masked flowerpiercer and tororoí rufos, as well as the largest community of hummingbirds in the country, with over 50 different species.
At midday, we'll make a stop to enjoy a snack, which will include a quesadilla (a traditional corn and cheese dish), chulips chocos (a popular Andean snack made from toasted grains), and a soft drink or water. At the end of the tour, we'll drop you off at the meeting point in Quito at around 1 pm.
Pick up
This trip includes pick up from the following hotels in Quito's historic centre: Hotel Casa El Edén, Portal de Cantuña, Casa Gangotena, San Blas, and Casa Foch. If you aren't staying at any of these hotels, we'll meet on Calle Vicente Ramón Roca E8-57.
