Immerse yourself in the vibrant heritage and stunning landscapes of Gran Canaria through a visit to the Old Town of Las Palmas, the serene Botanical Garden, and the majestic Caldera de Bandama.

Day Trip Overview

At the designated hour, you will be collected from your chosen meeting point in southern Gran Canaria. From there, we'll travel north towards Las Palmas, initiating our guided walking exploration of Vegueta, the historic core of the island’s capital.

This significant area features the city's oldest structures, including the remarkable Casa de Colón, which honors Christopher Columbus and his explorations. As you wander, you’ll visit the main square and the iconic Cathedral of Santa Ana, a focal point of Las Palmas. In addition, you’ll encounter essential modern landmarks such as the Gabinete Literario and the celebrated Pérez-Galdós Theatre, named after the renowned Spanish author born here.

Following a walking tour of approximately 20 minutes, you will enjoy 40 minutes of leisure time to further explore the area. Subsequently, we will board the coach for a visit to the Caldera de Bandama, where a brief 15-minute stop will allow for stunning photographs. The impressive crater, formed by volcanic activity, spans 1,000 meters in diameter and reaches a depth of 200 meters, providing breathtaking views.

After experiencing the beauty of Caldera de Bandama, we’ll continue our journey to the Viera y Clavijo Botanical Gardens, where you will have 45 minutes to appreciate this famous botanical collection, noted for its diverse plant species from Macaronesia, the unique ecological region that includes the Canary Islands, the Azores, Madeira, and Cape Verde.

Our final destination will be back in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where you’ll have the chance to enjoy lunch. You may also choose to visit the Poema del Mar aquarium. For those interested, explore Las Canteras Beach, the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, and the Las Arenas Shopping Centre. If you prefer, you can remain in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to conclude your tour here.

Together with the remaining participants, we will return to the original meeting point in the south of Gran Canaria, completing this day of exploration after a total duration of 9 hours.
