Day Trip to El Ceibal

On this boat trip and tour of El Ceibal from Flores, we will sail the La Pasión River and explore one of the most important Mayan archaeological complexes in Guatemala.

Day Trip to El Ceibal

We will pick you up in Flores at your hotel or the airport at 8 am and head to the town of Sayaxché, where a boat will take us to our destination.

We will board the boat and sail the La Pasión River to the Mayan archaeological complex of El Ceibal, which dates back to 400 B.C..

Upon arrival, we will walk along a stretch parallel to the river to reach the site. The tour will cover: sectors A, C, and D, the circular pyramid, the zoomorphic altar, and the ball game field.

We will also explore the Causeways connecting the architectural complexes and learn about the building techniques used by the Mayans. Additionally, we will see El Ceibal's collection of stelae, stone shafts carved with glyphs.

After completing our tour, we will return by boat to Sayaxché and take the bus back to Flores, with arrival at your hotel around 3:30 pm.
