Tour Details
Day 1: Flores - El Tintal
Pick up from your hotel in Flores and travel to the community of Carmelita, approximately 4 hours away. Meet your guides and trek to the Florica and Uacute campsites for lunch. Continue walking along the Zacbé road to El Tintal, where we will tour an archaeological site with over 2,000 buildings, including three pyramids. Dinner and overnight stay in tents follow.
Day 2: El Tintal - El Mirador
After breakfast, begin a 23.5 km (14.6 mi) hike through the forest. Midway, lunch is served at El Zompopero picnic area before visiting La Muerta archaeological site. Arrive at El Mirador, relax at camp, and enjoy dinner.
Day 3: El Mirador
Climb El Tigre Pyramid at sunrise. After breakfast, explore El Mirador, including ball game fields and sites of major economic significance. After lunch, visit other locations, including the frieze of the Hero Twins and La Danta Pyramid for sunset. Return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: El Mirador - El Tintal
After breakfast, depart for El Tintal with a 23.5 km (14.6 mi) trek, stopping for lunch at Zompopero area. Upon arrival at El Tintal, prepare for rest and dinner.
Day 5: El Tintal - Flores
Post-breakfast, trek 17.5 km (10.8 mi) to Carmelita, say goodbye to guides, and have lunch. Depart for Flores with an estimated 4-hour return journey, arriving at your hotel by 4 pm.
Accommodation and Meals
The tour includes 4 nights' full board accommodation at campsites in El Tintal and El Mirador, featuring tents for two people and shared bathrooms. Meals consist of pasta, meat, chicken, rice, sandwiches, and fruit.
