El Mirador & El Tintal: 5 Day Tour Package

Day 1: Airport - El Tintal

Pick up from Mundo Maya-Flores International Airport at 7:30 am, followed by transport to the community of Carmelita. Meet guides and proceed to the El Guacute camp for lunch. Afterward, hike along Zacbé road to El Tintal, where we will tour a Maya archaeological site with over 2,000 buildings. The day concludes with dinner and overnight camping.

Day 2: El Tintal - El Mirador

After breakfast, hike through the forest along trails and part of the Mayan road. Stop for lunch at the El Zompopero picnic area before visiting La Muerta archaeological site. Continue to El Mirador, arriving in time to watch the sunset at El Tigre Pyramid. Dinner follows.

Day 3: El Mirador

Optional early wake-up to watch the sunrise, followed by breakfast. Then, hike to the El Mirador site to view El Tigre Pyramid and other significant pre-Hispanic structures. Return to camp for lunch and explore more of the site, including the frieze of the Hero Twins and La Danta Pyramid. Enjoy a sunset before dinner.

Day 4: El Mirador - El Tintal

Depart from El Mirador after breakfast and hike for 7 hours towards El Tintal, taking a break at El Henequén Pyramid to watch the sunset.

Day 5: El Tintal - Airport

Travel back to Carmelita for a farewell meal before taking a minibus to the airport, expected arrival between 4 and 5 pm.

Accommodation and meals

The tour includes 4 nights' full board accommodation at campsites in El Tintal and El Mirador, featuring tents for two and shared bathroom facilities. Meals consist of pasta, meat, chicken, rice, sandwiches, and fruit.

Important

If your flight arrives after 7:30 am on Day 1, an overnight stay in Flores is necessary before starting the tour the following day. The itinerary is tailored to align with domestic flights from Guatemala City.
