On this guided tour of Balboa Park, we'll visit one of San Diego's key landmarks, strolling through gardens and learning about their history.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the designated meeting point to begin our walk through Balboa Park, founded in 1868 by Alonzo Horton. The park has hosted many significant events throughout its history, which we will explore during the tour.
Our first stop will be the California Tower, built for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915. This will be followed by a visit to the Alcazar Garden, inspired by Spanish gardens.
We will proceed along El Prado, the main thoroughfare of the park, enjoying unique building facades and Zoro Gardens, the butterfly garden. Our next destination will be the Spanish Village Art Centre, where artists work on their latest pieces.
A coffee break will be taken in the park before we visit the Botanical Building, which was the largest wooden lattice structure upon its completion in 1915.
We will conclude our guided tour of Balboa Park at the Plaza de Panama after two hours of sightseeing.
