On this tour of Liberty Station in San Diego, you will explore the history of the US Navy at a former naval training center. Participants will meet at Liberty Public Market at the scheduled time.

After a brief introduction, the tour will commence at what was once Camp Paul Jones at Point Loma, where insights about the journey of becoming a sailor with the US Navy will be shared.

Next, the tour will proceed to the old dispensary, where recruits received medical attention. Additional sites at Liberty Station include the Sail Ho golf course and the WAVES barracks, where women trained for the Volunteer Emergency Service in 1943.

The tour continues past various buildings of this naval base to the Command Center, where an exhibition reveals the life of enlisted personnel.

Participants will also visit Ingram Plaza, Boats Memorial, and Preble Field.
