Description

On this tour of Liberty Station in San Diego, you will explore the history of the US Navy at a former naval training center. The activity begins at Liberty Public Market at the specified time.

Following a brief introduction, the tour will proceed to Camp Paul Jones at Point Loma, where participants will learn about the experience of becoming a US Navy sailor.

The tour includes a visit to the old dispensary, which provided medical attention to recruits. Additional sites at Liberty Station encompass the Sail Ho golf course and the WAVES barracks, where women trained for the Volunteer Emergency Service in 1943.

Participants will walk past various buildings associated with the naval base, concluding at the Command Center, which features an exhibition highlighting the lives of enlisted personnel.

The tour will also visit Ingram Plaza, Boats Memorial, and Preble Field.

After 2.5 hours of exploring San Diego's naval history, the tour will return to the starting point.
