Discover the Chicamocha River on a 15-kilometre (9-mile) rafting descent over family-friendly rapids and venture into a dry forest.

Description

On the day of the activity, we'll meet at Cra. 10 in San Gil to head to the Chicamocha River. After approximately 1.5 hours, we'll arrive at one of the most important rivers in central Colombia.

Upon arrival, we will receive a brief introduction from our instructor. After donning our safety gear, we will get into our boats and paddle through the waters, taking in views of the Chicamocha Canyon, nominated in 2012 as one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World.

For 2 to 3 hours, we will navigate through stretches of continuous rapids, experiencing the thrill of the 15-kilometre (9-mile) stretch of the Chicamocha River.

While aboard, we'll enter the regional coffee forest and enjoy views of the lush plantations lining the river banks. As we explore deeper into the canyon, we will encounter an old colonial village and have the opportunity to take a dip in the refreshing waters of the Chicamocha.

After the activity, we will refuel with a traditional lunch, concluding the day after a total of 6-7 hours of engagement.
