The Santander region is a treasure trove of cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes. Join us as we explore the remarkable Cueva del Indio, where we will not only navigate the depths of the cave but also greet the local bats and take a refreshing swim in a natural pool.
Description
Starting with a pickup from your accommodation, we will depart from Barichara and journey into the picturesque countryside of Santander. After approximately 3.5 hours, we will reach our exciting destination: the Cueva del Indio.
Are you prepared to descend 80 meters (262 feet)? As we venture downwards, our exploration kicks off in the cave’s first chamber, where the friendly bats reside. Don’t worry; they won’t bother you! We'll navigate the intimate spaces of this cave and, among rugged rock formations, find a chamber where warm water will greet our feet.
Throughout our expedition, we will encounter stalactites and stalagmites. Embracing our inner adventurers, we’ll slip through rocky passages and traverse tunnels. And as if that weren’t enough, the adventure continues as we approach the natural pools! This trek leads us to a breathtaking precipice, where the adventurous can plunge 10 meters (32 feet) into the cool waters.
Once we exit the cave, our journey doesn’t end there. On our way back, we will pause at the charming town of Páramo, a delightful blend of stunning landscapes and historic colonial architecture.
