Crocodile Safari on the Tarcoles River

We'll pick you up from your hotel in San Jose at 7 am and set off for the Tarcoles River to meet some very special reptiles!

After an hour's journey, we'll arrive at the Tarcoles River, one of the four waterways that flow into the Gulf of Nicoya. Here we'll hop on a boat and sail off to meet the crocodiles! This area is home to one of the largest crocodile populations in the world.

We'll spend two hours sailing the waters of the river as we find out all about these iconic animals, which can be up to five meters long.

We will also visit the Guacalillo Estuary, where we'll see an impressive ecosystem of four types of mangroves. At the end of the trip, we'll enjoy a delicious typical lunch at the South Beach Hotel in Jacó before returning. At the end of this experience, we'll make our way back to your hotels in San José for around 6 pm.
