Doka Coffee Plantation, Grecia & Sarchí Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in the morning and head to Hacienda Doka, one of the largest coffee plantations in Costa Rica. The coffee grown on the Doka Estate is acclaimed, and we'll discover the coffee production process as we climb to 1,350 meters (4,429 feet). After the guided tour, a lunch featuring Costa Rican specialties will be served, including salad, rice and beans, meat, dessert, and a drink.
Next, we will visit Grecia, situated in the foothills of the Cordillera Central. The city is known for its coffee and sugarcane plantations, as well as beautiful textiles. While exploring, we will reach the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, notable for being made entirely of red-painted steel plates and an example of European Neo-Gothic architecture. We'll also visit the Central Market for a glimpse of local life.
Moving on, we will stop in Sarchí, known as the birthplace of Costa Rican craftwork. Here, artisans create traditional handicrafts, especially the famous Sarchí oxcarts made of wood with vibrant painted designs. We will see the largest oxcart in the world, symbolizing Costa Rican heritage.
After a day rich in culture, we will return to your hotel in San Jose, approximately 8 hours after departure.
