Doka Coffee Plantation, Grecia & Sarchí Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in the morning and head to Hacienda Doka, one of the largest and most emblematic coffee plantations in Costa Rica. The "golden beans" grown on Doka Estate are known for their quality, and we'll discover the coffee production process as we ascend 1,350 meters (4,429 feet).
After a guided tour of the Doka plantation, we will enjoy a lunch of Costa Rican specialties, including salad, rice, beans, meat, dessert, and a drink. Next, we will visit picturesque Grecia, located in the foothills of the Cordillera Central. This city is noted for its coffee and sugarcane plantations as well as its production of textiles.
In Grecia, we will see the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, which is entirely made of red steel plates, exemplifying European Neo-Gothic architecture, followed by a visit to the Central Market for a glimpse of local life.
Our final stop will be Sarchí, known as the birthplace of Costa Rican craftwork, famous for its handcrafted oxcarts. You'll see the biggest oxcart in the world, a national symbol, traditionally used to transport coffee from highland plantations to the Pacific coast.
Finally, we will return to your hotel in San Jose, completing an approximately 8-hour tour.
