Immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of Costa Rica on this full-day tour: learn all about coffee at Hacienda Doka, explore picturesque Grecia and admire the handmade oxcarts in Sarchí.

Doka Coffee Plantation, Grecia & Sarchí Tour

We'll pick you up from your hotel in the morning and head to Hacienda Doka, a significant coffee plantation in Costa Rica. The "golden beans" grown here are recognized for quality, and we'll discover the coffee production process at an altitude of 1,350 meters (4,429 feet).

Following the plantation tour, we'll enjoy a typical lunch of Costa Rican specialties, including a salad, rice and beans, meat, dessert, and a drink. After lunch, we'll proceed to Grecia, located in the foothills of the Cordillera Central. The city is known for its coffee and sugarcane plantations as well as the production of textiles.

In Grecia, we'll visit the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, notable for being constructed entirely of steel plates painted red, exemplifying European Neo-Gothic architecture. Next, we'll head to the Central Market to experience local life.

The tour continues to Sarchí, the birthplace of Costa Rican craftwork, famous for its Sarchí oxcarts. These handcrafted wooden oxcarts, decorated with vibrant designs, were historically used to transport coffee. You will also see the biggest oxcart in the world, a recognized national symbol.

After a cultural day, we'll return to your hotel in San Jose, approximately 8 hours later.
